WHARE TE AO — The House of Light
An expression of art, soul, passion and collective consciousness.
Whare Te Ao is more than an artistic identity or creative practice. It is a living expression of who I am — a place where my soul, imagination, cultural identity and creative passions come together through the interconnected languages of painting, drawing, dance, filmmaking and music.

At its heart, Whare Te Ao represents the coming together of different creative disciplines as one continuous journey of discovery. Each art form offers a different way of seeing, feeling and communicating the world around me. Painting and drawing allow me to explore the human form, the spirit and the stories held within the body. Dance brings those expressions to life through movement, rhythm and physical connection. Filmmaking allows me to capture and construct narratives that move beyond the individual, while music gives voice to emotions and ideas that sometimes cannot be expressed through images or words alone.
Although these disciplines may appear separate, they emerge from the same source: an inner creative impulse — a desire to explore, interpret, express and share the human experience.

The creative collective consciousness
For me, creativity is not confined to a canvas, a camera, a musical instrument or a dance floor. It is an energetic relationship between the mind, body and spirit — an ongoing conversation between imagination, emotion, memory, culture and the world around us.
When I paint, I enter a dialogue with the human form. When I draw, I explore the possibilities of imagination. When I dance, I surrender to movement and rhythm. When I make films, I construct visual narratives that connect people, places and experiences. When I make music, I give sound to the emotions and creative energy moving through me.
Together, these practices become something greater than the sum of their individual parts.
I see this as a form of creative collective consciousness — a space where ideas, experiences, cultural knowledge and artistic expression intersect. It is where my own creative energy connects with the energy of others, where collaboration becomes a catalyst for new possibilities, and where art becomes a shared language that transcends boundaries.
It is about recognising that creativity is not something we simply produce; it is something we participate in. We draw from the world, from one another, from our ancestors, from our experiences and from the possibilities of what has yet to be imagined.
